Our history and legacy:
For nearly four decades, the Edenglen High Drummies, proudly known as “The Blues,” have been a symbol of excellence, discipline, and community spirit. Representing both their school and the wider community with pride, this dedicated team continues to build on a legacy that spans almost 40 years.

The 2026 team is made up of 60 talented young ladies from Grade 8 to Grade 12, all of whom commit an extraordinary amount of time and effort to their sport. In just the first six months of the year, the team will train for over 400 hours, with regular practices held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays during the school term, as well as intensive full-day training camps during the April and July school holidays. This level of commitment reflects their passion, discipline, and drive to succeed.

Their hard work continues to deliver impressive results. In the 2025 season, “The Blues” secured a place in the top 3 provincially and ranked within the top 6 nationally. Building on this success, the team will once again take to the national stage in 2026, competing at the South African National Championships at Ruimsig Stadium in Roodepoort. There, they will go head-to-head with the top 14 teams in the country in what promises to be a highly competitive event.

As a self-funded sport, Drummies relies heavily on the support of sponsors, fundraising initiatives, and the ongoing contributions of parents and guardians to cover day-to-day expenses. This year, the team has embarked on a fundraising drive to raise much-needed funds for new uniform items and props essential for their national championship performance.

By purchasing a raffle ticket, you are not only supporting a team—you are investing in the dreams, dedication, and future of these young women. Your contribution plays a vital role in helping “The Blues” continue their legacy of excellence and achieve their goals on the national stage.
